I 've written an article on the Scofield Utah mine disaster in 1900. My grandmother's first husband was killed in the explosion and many more miners died when they tried to escape when they breathed deadly carbon monoxide. About 250 miners died.
A second article asks "How Do We Stack Up?" We say that America is the greatest country in the world. Is it? What do we need to do to change our image in the world?
A third article answers Science Questions for kids.

Names of Current Utah Miners and the 1900 Utah Mine Explosion
Reported at http://www.abc4.com/mostpopular/story.aspx?content_id=b1fb2b27-36f2-4eae-af2e-cf9387c3d8fa
a local newspaper is reporting the names of the six trapped miners. They are Manuel Sanchez, Brandon Phillips, Carlos Payan, Kerry Allred, Don Erickson and Luis Hernandez. The net also reports that three are Mexican citizens.
I have an interest because my grandmother's first husband was killed in the mine explosion that killed over 200 men in a Utah mine explosion in 1900. Those not killed by the explosion were killed by carbon monoxide. See the story at http://historytogo.utah.gov/utah_chapters/mining_and_railroads/thescofieldminedisasterin1900wasutahsworst.html
I wonder who (or if) I would be if my could-have-been grandfather had survived.

Writing 101: Why didn’t I write this before? Maybe you did!
The Hack Writer is pretty old. That's why I often repeat myself. But is that all bad?
Those of us that write for the Internet are always looking for ways to expand an article or to break it up into a number of separate articles. That is because the more articles you publish, the more Internet exposure you get. Print writers do the same thing.
So, the hack writer has created another article on the subject at http://ezinearticles.com/?Writing-101---Why-Didnt-I-Write-This-Before?-Maybe-You-Did&id=670429John

Lessons for Life: Much Ado About Imus
Don Imus used rapper and comic talk to describe a group of black basketball players. The words he used were defamatory and down right rude. Nobody would have noticed if he said those same words on the Daily Show or Comedy Central where filth abounds. Don Imus used the words to describe the young women of the Rutgers University Basketball team that played for the national championship.
Although the words were said in Don’s usual drown, they were picked up by the media and microphone-grabbing black activist. Indignation roared! Imus quickly apologized. After all, he was talking on cable where nothing is regulated and everything goes. On cable, vulgarity, jibes, and insults should not be taken seriously. In other words, he didn’t really mean what he said.
The media quickly picked up on the story. Although the young ladies, to their credit, were more tolerant to Imus than most blacks, the media furry cost Imus his job. Now he is out in the cold—where he probably belongs. He has a history of racial intolerance—as most everyone does— but his intolerance is a public record. Read my article at:

"Three Great Enchiladas From One Basic Recipe"
Enchiladas are good but a little variety helps. Here is how to make chicken, steak, and cheese enchiladas all at the same time. Oh, did I forget pork?
My son spent 2 years in Peru and likes enchiladas. As I say in the article, I made too many last night for a party and had enough left to feed an army. My son with his 13 kids is such an army.
He called me today and said that he had a steak and a chicken enchilada and that they were very good indeed.
He said the kids, who cook a lot, wanted the recipe.
I knew that would happen so I wrote the article this morning. It was approved by ezinearticles.com a bit faster than usual so I was able to just send the kids to tjbooks.com where there is a feed of titles and abstracts at the bottom of the page. One click and the kids have the recipe.
If your mouth is now watering, click on the link below:

Writing 101: Writing the Keyword Article
Writing articles for the Internet is one way to drive traffic to your site but they must be read before anyone follows your links to your sites. Using keywords will help you write articles with a high hit number when folks search the web. Of current interest is Anna Nicole Smith who's keyword popularity was not in the top 300 last December but peaked to Number 1 soon after she died. She has dropped to #49 but that is still a very high rating and it could go higher if the media has its way by placing doubt on the cause of her death. Learn how to write, blog, and ping your articles for maximum readership and visits to your sites by reading my article:
